General posts, reblogs, self & comm promos, to help put users in contact with each other.
To keep this group open to a wide range of users, there is an official tagging policy so users can block unwanted/NSFW content. Before starting to post, please familiarise yourself with the Rules & Required Tags discussion post.
The following are required tags to use on your posts where applicable (the . have been added into these tags to keep them from being picked up by the blacklist, omit the . when using these tags):
N.SFW (the slider is a must, as is a tag for why it's N.SFW (ex. artistic n.udity, s.exual n.udity, anything else from the trigger warnings below), and the general N.SFW tag wouldn't go amiss either.
This should also be accompanied by a tag for the title of the movie, book, show, etc it pertains to. To recognise the global audience of Pillowfort and the staggered release schedules of media around the world, I'm going to define a Spoiler as any post that includes text or images that reveals an important plot or character development which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader. Spoilers will apply to media released within the last year. If in doubt, add this tag.
Trigger warnings, a general tag as such, and where appropriate a tag for one of these specific common warnings:
b.lood, g.ore, etc. v.iolence r.ape/s.exual a.ssault mentions d.eath/a.nimal d.eath s.exually suggestive content s.elf-harm or s.uicide mentions m.ental h.ealth - for discussion of difficult topics around such, ex. struggling with negative feelings about self, challenges of coping with something like anxiety, depression, etc. s.moking, d.rugs, n.eedles k.nives, b.laded w.eapons, s.cissors, g.uns b.igotry - tag this with the specific type, i.e. discussions or mentions of h.omophobia, r.acism, s.exism, etc. p.olitics m.oney n.udity
General tagging suggestions:
Beyond those laid out above, you're highly encouraged to use any additional tags you think would be helpful. Right now the original poster's tags don't follow a reblog, so you can't just count on the blacklist picking those up. Also, while right now you can only filter tags for a personal blog and not a comm, the staff have indicated comm filtering is in the future. So it's best to set up best practice now.
Not only will this help people with blacklists, it'll also help people looking for your content via the tags. E.g. if a post contains pictures/video/information on s.nakes, tagging it with 's.nakes' will help both those that are afraid of and have blacklisted the term, and those that are interested in finding more s.nake related content.
If you fail to include a required tag, a moderator will contact you via private message specifying which post doesn't meet the requirements above and what needs to be added. You will have 24 hours from the message being sent to make the changes, or it will be removed from the community. You may reshare the post if it's be deleted as long as you use the required tags the second time. Repeat offenders, or people who show a clear attitude of not cooperating with the rules will be removed from the community. Removed users that return and continue said behaviour will be blocked from rejoining.
As a user of the comm, if you see a post that you think violates the rules & required tags laid out above, you can report it to either of us to take action.
Thanks for cooperating and making this a great place to hang out,
