Hello, and welcome to the Elder Scrolls OCs community!
Beyond Pillowfort’s own rules and guidelines (e.g., no harassment or NSFW art of minors), there isn’t much to add. That said, as people start posting, I’d like to lay the following guidelines:
In general, tagging is encouraged. If posting about your character, I recommend tagging with the game your character exists in and their canon title (e.g., Nerevarine, Dragonborn, etc.) if applicable. Additional tags are up to you.
Art and fic depicting sensitive issues (e.g., assault or suicide) must be tagged. The series has plenty of dark themes, and people are obviously welcome to explore these dark themes with their characters, but please be mindful of others and tag these subjects so they can be avoided. If you aren’t sure if it’s a sensitive topic, I recommend tagging it to be on the safe side.
Similarly, NSFW art and fic must be tagged and flagged. NSFW content is allowed, as the TES games are M-rated to begin with, but please bear in mind that not everyone will want to see NSFW content. As previously mentioned, art and fic depicting children in sexual situations is not permitted. This includes immortal characters in children’s bodies (such as Babette).
Fic or character descriptions more than a few paragraphs long should be put under a readmore link. Text with a fixed format, such as character development memes, does not require a readmore.
In general, please be respectful of other community members. If someone posts art of their character from your least favorite game in the series, don’t go out of your way to tell them it’s your least favorite game, and don’t offer art or writing critiques unless it is specifically asked for. Homophobic, racist, transphobic, sexist, and ableist comments toward other community members are completely unacceptable.
These rules may be adjusted as the situation requires — but the rule of thumb will always be to just be respectful of one another.
Happy posting!
