Rules & Info
Be respectful to your fellow writers
No hate towards other writers
This goes with #1, but I want to be clear that, whatever we write, this group is about building each other up and making everyone better. There will be no "lol go die" stuff going on.
On top of that, callout culture is not welcome here. Posts calling for mob style persecution of others are not allowed.
Open
discussion
is encouraged, but outright arguing should not happen (or should be taken to DMs) and bullying will not be allowed
Use content warnings
Writers are free to express themselves in their work however they like. This may mean delving into topics that are taboo, that push social norms, or are downright hard for some people to read. Before posting works (or snippets of works), consider the material and be sure to give readers a heads up for particularly triggering content.
Racism, homophobia, sexism, antisemitism, and the like will not be tolerated
However, note that horror is a genre that is vast, including many sub-genres (splatterpunk, extreme, paranormal, psychological, dark fantasy, etc.) which means some topics will be hard to digest and each reader/writer has different limits. Horror is often used to voice frustrations, fears, and horrors that are sometimes real, which includes the -isms above. We will not censor a user's writing, but see rule 4.
Discussion of these -isms in regards to writing is encouraged
Spamming the group feed for self-promotion is not allowed.
Promo in the proper discussion is fine and reblogging/making a post that alerts other people of your work is great, but overdoing it is just plain inconsiderate.
While we are focused on horror writing, discussion revolving around other forms of horror (books, movies, art, podcast, etc) are welcome.
The Mod(s) have the right to update the rules as needed and will inform the community when changes are made.
