hello, creatives of pillowfort! and welcome to the official pifocremo community.
pillowfort creatives month is an event i concocted for people who want to take a month to dedicate to their creative projects. inspired by nanowrimo (national novel writing month), but looking for a way to include more than writing, it's a way for creators of all kinds to come together to share in prompts, resources, and support.
when does it happen?
- begins midnight november 1, ends 11:59:59 november 30.
who can participate?
- anyone working on a creative project or looking to boost their creativity. writing, traditional art, fiber arts, film-making, collaging; whatever your flavor, you're welcome here.
what's the goal?
- whatever you want. finish a wip. try ten new techniques. spend 30 minutes per day just doing something creative. you know best what would benefit from your time and focus!
how do i prove i've completed my goal?
what do i get if i win?
- the delicious taste of victory. setting a short-term goal and reaching it can do amazing things for dopamine levels! i'll also probably end up making some cutesy little buttons for people's profiles.
what are the rules?
-
pillowfort TOS apply when posting here, of course.
- respectful conduct is expected. varying opinions are inevitable, but being a jerk about your opinion is unacceptable.
- please bear this in mind when asking for or giving feedback and criticism. criticism should be constructive and those making requests should be able to take the feedback they receive with grace, not hostile defensiveness. note: absolutely no criticism should be given on work that doesn't ask for it.
- stay on topic! posts shared here will have to go through moderation before they are made visible to ensure this.
- we are functioning on an honor system. this is a safe space for people to explore their crafts and grow as artists. if you steal work, screencap what's here to make fun of publicly later (a la shaming groups on facebook and reddit), or anything else unsavory, you will be banned from participating in the community and will be reported to PF.
- all posts must be properly tagged using this tagging guide. you may add other relevant tags, as well, but consistency is key for searching and filtering.
-
#pfcmprompt - anything meant to inspire new work
-
#pfcmresource - useful practical information in the form of articles, videos, how-tos, etc.
-
#pfcmredpen - when asking for constructive criticism
-
#pfcmapplause -when asking for positive feedback or support
- any associated triggers/content warnings should be tagged, as well. these should be regular tags and do not require the "pfcm" prefix.
- nsfw pieces are permitted, but failure to warn/tag/toggle will result in an insta-ban from the group. any content, written or visual, depicting explicit sexual material, extreme violence, drug abuse, etc., should be considered nsfw. this community should be available and accessible to people of all ages with anyone looking over their shoulder. if you are uncertain, err on the side of caution, or send me a dm for confirmation.
- triggers and nsfw media should be tagged, as mentioned above, but applicable warnings should be given at the beginning of the post, also.
the rules are subject to change as necessary, but any adjustments will be announced in a public post as well as edited in here. violators will be warned, banned, or reported to pillowfort, depending on the level of infraction. be on your best behavior, be cool, and remember that this is all for fun.
questions and comments can be directed to me via dm!
thanks for reading, now go forth and create!
