LGBTQ+/Diverse content and reccommendations encouraged!
1. We're not here to yuck anyone's yum. The comm allows everything from Inspirational to Monsterfuckery and sometimes, that means steamy descriptions of questionable acts and fanart with studded dicks. People like what they like for a variety of reasons, and we're not here to judge their tastes or their reasons.*
2. Toggle NSFW posts accordingly. The comm as a whole isn't marked NSFW because we want sweet and vanilla readers to be able to find us and feel welcome too.
3. Tags. When posting, please tag the author, book/series title and tropes. Spoilers: If the information you're providing would ruin a plot twist or seriously take away from a first time read or viewing, please tag it. Use best judgement on the age of the media. Generally, if it's under a year old, please tag.
4. No self-promo. Sorry, authors! If the comm is inactive, I don't want it to get swamped with nothing but promo posts. Most newbies bounce off of that, and that's not what we want.
5. It's not a capital-R Romance if it doesn't have an HEA. There's always exceptions to every rule, but generally, if the Romance and the Happily Ever After aren't the whole point of the story, it doesn't belong here. Example: The Notebook. It's romantic, but it doesn't have an HEA.
6. Sex positive discussions, kink safety, and education centered around consent and preventing abuse is encouraged. We learn from everything we read, and sometimes an author writes something that's just not good information. Pointing it out is good, but please keep in mind the trope requirements of the sub-genre you're commenting on (i.e. Dark Romance).**
We aim to have something for everyone, and thus, not everything will be for you.
*No pedophilia/MAP content. You WILL get reported.
**This rule should not be used to circumvent discussion of racism, antisemitism, transphobia, etc in stories. Even in older media. Pointing these things out is how the genre and community improve.
This comm isn't really intended for fanfic, but we would be remiss in not acknowledging the quality of some of the fics out there. And the influence fanfic has had on Romance tropes today. If you're going to make a post to specifically rec a fanfic please make sure it's high quality and the story is complete. *No Harry Potter content.
