Hello and welcome! We are very happy to have you here. This community is a safe place for anyone LGBTQ+ as well as any supportive allies, and a community for all of us to come together. It is the Pillowfort branch of our community. We also have a discord server.
Some rules:
1. An obvious one, but no hate speech. No homophobia, racism, sexism, transphobia, or ANYTHING of that nature. This includes anything not specifically mentioned here that degrades someone for something about themself that they have no control over. This extends to gatekeeping and erasure. Everyone is welcome here, no matter how much or how little queer they are. Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Ace/Aro, Two-Spirit, Intersex, even Allies are all welcome. Just because someone is in an ostensibly heterosexual relationship at this moment does not mean that they are not what they say they are. This is a non-negotiable point and the easiest way to get yourself in trouble or banned. There are minors in this community and anyone observed to be preying upon them will be banned, immediately. Full stop.
1.1 Not all slurs have been fully reclaimed. Just because you personally are comfortable with one does not mean that someone else is. The only exception to this is “queer” as it is both the wide accepted academic term for our community as well as something that a lot of people identify with.
2. Be nice! This community is meant to be a kind and caring place. Please don't cause fights and if something looks like it's going to escalate, either take it into DMs or approach a Moderator . We don’t want there to be public fights or arguing or personal attacks. If you have an issue with someone, reach out directly to a Moderator . Be sure to include any evidence or screenshots you have, for transparency.
2.1 To add on to the be nice rule, negativity directed at other members is not acceptable. We all have poor mental health days here and there; progress is not a straight line. Please do not talk about people behind each other’s backs within this discord. We are a community, and efforts which seek to divide a community only hurt all of us. This extends mostly to public channels. We want to stress that you can come to a mod about anything.
2.2 Everyone starts somewhere and advances with time in their art journey. Please keep the art thread positive; critique may be given, but only when asked for. It is the artist’s duty to ask for critique if they so desire it. Please remember proper etiquette; talk about the benefits and flaws of the piece. What is good, and where the artist can improve. DO NOT: just call a piece terrible and be done.
3. No NSFW content. This is defined as anything triggering, illegal, fetish, titillating, and nude imagery, including but not limited to images, text, and voice. There's enough younger people and those who are at work that we'd like to keep things clean. This includes advertising to bring people into DMs for said content. You don't know who you're messaging.
